FamilyFrame for community providers via Family Services Training Center, Alaska

We were approached by the Family Services Training Center, based in Alaska, which was looking for a training opportunity for introducing behavioral health providers to a family based approach that was less time intensive, more flexible, and more affordable than purveyor driven manualized approaches.

We were invited to present an overview of our FamilyFrame training to Alaska providers during a ‘Brown Bag’ session back in 2022. We then held live online workshops with our first cohort of learners, after which we enrolled the group in the online, asynchronous FamilyFrame training. This group later elected to participate in ongoing clinical consultation meetings with our Family Therapy expert as an additional support to their training.

We are now working with our third cohort of providers in Alaska, and hope to maintain this working relationship for many years to come! Our goal as trainers is to offer behavioral health providers with a relationship-oriented toolkit that they can add to their existing set of clinical skills, ultimately increasing family involvement and family focus when treating young people.
